Universal remotes

What kind do you have and what devices does it control?

The Entone Kamai 500 remote controls my Samsung UN40H5003AFXZC tv (2015) but not my Yamaha RX-V1000 receiver (2008).
Not a big surprise since the Kamai is a 2012 remote but I would have hoped it worked with older devices.

My Logitech Harmony H659 works with my Yamaha but it died and I don't want another (it is too reliant on Windows).

I forgot to add that I used the auto detect to turn off my Yamaha but the remote wouldn't turn it back on.

I know there are some Linux tools like concordance that allow you to configure Logitech Harmony remotes. You may wish to look into that. AFAIK, Logitech is the golden standard and I am not aware of other universal remotes that support Entone and/or WNC STB's (they are probably out there, but I don't know what they are).

I love my Harmony All-in-one but I just hate having to program since it forces me to use windows and it also forces you to upgrade to the newest logitech firmware which isn't as good as the older versions.
But it is a great remote - following to see what others suggest.
When my Harmony died on me I couldn't find anything that came close so I just ordered a new battery.

There are Linux tools to program Harmony remotes. I heard good things about Congruity, but I haven't used it myself. For now, our regular remotes are just fine for my needs.

I discovered the regular Entone remote works for muting, changing the volume, and turning off my Yamaha.
It would turn ON my Yamaha which so far is tolerable.
